ROCHE Diagnostics GmbH is the leading in vitro diagnostic company in the world. We develop products for life science research (ROCHE Applied Science), for clinical use (ROCHE Molecular and ROCHE Professional Diagnostics) and for patient self testing (ROCHE Diabetes Care). The main research activities are performed at two sites in Germany, Penzberg and Mannheim. 454 Life Sciences is a centre of excellence of ROCHE Applied Science. It develops and commercializes the innovative Genome Sequencer™ system for ultra-high-throughput DNA sequencing. Specific applications include de novo sequencing and re-sequencing of genomes, metagenomics, RNA analysis, and targeted sequencing of DNA regions of interest.
